Prohibición de los juegos de rol en los 80 (¿?)

Me he enconrado en esta página esto...

Mi casa estaba en Europa y nunca oímos nada de ninguna prohibición

Me neither. Not that that's a surprise... I mean my country was in the "Eastern-block". Everything from the west was regarded as a poison to the mind of the children... :] At least on propaganda level. Truth is that was the dawn of Satellite TV AND (illegally) imported RPG-s AND computers (illegally imported and/or hacked). The 80s is the main reason why so hard to push back piracy around here... Old habits die hard

We had our share of the Role-playing games are EVIL, it causes suicide and other bad things craze ... but that was around the middle of the 90s.
It was mainly fueled by the media, nothing really happened but it created the "normal" misconceptions (We HAD to import everything those days from tabloids and UFO abduction beliefs to our very own Christian fundamentalist SECT! )

Yo no he conocido ese caso, vamos, tengo mis dudas si se hace referencia a los juegos de rol en el telón de acero y desconozco si ni siquiera había juegos de rol.

But I don't think either that with "Europe in the 80s" the author meant the eastern part of it. On the other hand I can't remember anything about banning RPG-s in Europe ... except some urban legends about Kult. But even that won't fit with the time. :/




* You could literally get everything from the west here if you knew the right people and/or had enough money. .oO( My mother bought my firs REAL (not Russian/Chinese copycat) Lego set in a regular toy-store ... but under-the-counter. I was 6 or 7... )

Another interesting fact: The first Role-playing game club in Hungary (as far as I know) opened in 1988! They played AD&D (Just don't ask how they got rulebooks that didn't officially exist in the country!!!).

It's a shame that I don't know when the "Rubin Kódex" got published* (BEFORE 1991 I'm certain... ) ... Real "Official" Hungarian PIRATE version of AD&D


* I don't even know if it was actually published. But there WHERE phantom (illegal) book publishers those days ... I mean I highly doubt that Jack Chick got any money after the Hungarian edition of his Alberto comics. .oO( Rumors tell that our very own Christian Fundamentalist Sect "A Hit Gyülekezete" committed THIS crime against humanity!!! )

There was... At least according the older role-players (they complained about the awful translation too) I never saw it. It's probably rarity now.

If I ever manage to find a copy I'll try to scan it. (I try to find a copy of "Harc és Varázslat" too. The 1st real Hungarian role-playing game (1991). For its historical importance!!! ... and the retro feeling. )
